Shocks, Struts & Suspension

Shocks

Your shocks help to smooth out the ride you get on your car, truck, or SUV. They provide measured resistance every time their wheels bounce up and down while maintaining proper control. Manufacturers recommend checking them once a year- even if it’s just for maintenance purposes!

Struts

Struts control the movement of springs and shocks to keep tires in contact with the road. Most strut-based systems use coils, but they also come equipped with larger more powerful shock absorbers that last longer than conventional ones. Manufacturers also suggest getting struts checked about once a year.

Suspension

Steering and suspension are the major players in keeping your car on course. They help you keep your vehicle firmly on the ground, and make sure you don’t veer off the road. If you are experiencing noise when driving over bumps, you feel as if your vehicle is bouncing, if your car veers to the right or the left, or if you have a difficult time turning, bring your vehicle into Summit Car Care for an inspection.
